Vaka designs are as ebullient as the designer Katie! It looks very much like Katie’s first choice is taking care of the kids and writing blog. But yet she succeeds in displaying the same passion, in her other love – designing gold jewelry. The designs- that have come after learning from the mistakes, as she has succinctly put, are down to earth and catchy. She is game for making custom design by sitting with the client, though she rules out working with gold-plated metals. It is fine for her to work with artian 14k and sterling jewelry. She detests working with white gold too, though she has given a try to pink gold. Of course she would never recreate another person’s work, even if requested. Finally like in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail, one person may keep repeating that she is a designer, while the other would persist that she is a colorful writer! Plastics are non biodegradable and are one of the worst pollutants affecting our natural resources. It cannot degrade nor can it be burnt. When burnt it emits harmful gases that affect the ozone layer. It remains buried in the soil thereby choking the roots of trees and stops rain water from seeping into the soil. It not only chokes the sewage lines but also animals resulting in their death. The only solution to this menace is, non usage. Each one of us must make a conscious effort to avoid using plastics. A few simple steps followed can make our planet plastic free.
